General Instructions for All Tests:
1. Please bring health insurance information, your referral if required, and a list of your current medications.
2. Wear loose fitting clothing, short sleeve
shirt without metal buttons or zippers.
3. Refrain from wearing necklaces or girdles.
4. See additional instructions below for specific
test.
5. Medications Instructions:
If test was ordered by your
primary care physician, please check with that physician as to whether
or not cardiac medications should be stopped prior to test.
6. Allow 3-4 hours for the test.
Nuclear Stress Test:
1. Wear rubber soled shoes or sneakers
2. If you use inhalants, bring them
3. May eat before test
4. No caffeine 12 hours prior to test
5. If diabetic, please bring lunch or snack
6. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water the day before the test
Lexiscan Stress Test:
1. Nothing to eat or drink 2 hours prior
to test (unless diabetic, then eat normally), water is OK. Bring a snack
if you are a diabetic.
2. No caffeine or decaffeinated products
24 hours prior to test
3. Notify us with any known drug
allergies, asthma or emphysema.
4. If you use inhalants, please
bring them.
5. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water the day before the test.
Dobutamine Stress Test:
1. Nothing to eat or drink 2 hours prior to the test(unless diabetic,
then eat normally) water is OK. Bring snack if diabetic.
2. No caffeine or decaf products 24 hrs to test.
3. Drink 6-8 glasses of water the day before the test.
4. Please bring your inhaler if you use one.
5. Notify staff if you have any drug allergies.
